TYPES OF FBAs

The presence of conjugated double bonds is essential in the constitution on fluorescent molecules(substantivity). For eg:

-C=C-C=-C=C- (stilbene type)

-N=C-C=-C=C- (imidazole type)

A large number of the fluorescent brightening agents used in the textile, paper & detergent industries are based on diaminostibene disulphonic acid.

Besides these, there are also product based on coumarin and benzimidazole.
